Is Bristol Connecticut A Safe Place To Live Or Just An Illusion?

We're looking for a safe place (hotel) to stop and spend the night off of I95 midway through which points us to NC. I'd like to feel comfortable leaving the truck/car (which of course will be locked) while we get some shut eye. Any suggestions for a hotel not too far off of I95?

We wonder how safe it is to commute from there? Are parking spaces relatively easy to get? Is it safe to leave your car there 10 hours or so and is your person safe if you are coming home there after dark? Would appreciate hearing from anyone who had been currently or recently had been regularly commuting from there.bThank you.
