Difficulty accessing shared files due to mandatory admin verification code. Recently, access to shared files started requiring an extra verification code from the admin every single time. Before, opening the shared link from email was enough and things worked smoothly.

You can do this by opening an incognito/private browsing window, while not signed into any account, and accessing this link. From there you should be able to contact support. Since you can still access your email address from what I gather, make sure to enter the same email for the deleted Dropbox account when submitting the request.
